Synopsis

La mystification de Gylfi (The Mystification of Gylfi) is the first chapter of the most ancient piece of Icelandic literature, the “Edda” by Snorri Sturluson. Set in Valhalla, the gods narrate the origins of the Universe to King Gylfi through a series of optical illusions. The gods’ voices are replaced by Lara’s. She has just turned ten and is reading the “Edda” for the first time. While Lara discovers the Norse realm through the ancient myth, the camera explores the contemporary landscapes of Iceland.
