Xoanon

Xoanon is a chaotic yet meticulous montage of visual findings, archival footage and live action; a paradoxical collection that travels between religious and paranormal phenomena, depicting humanity’s need to understand the universe around it and to turn to a higher creative entity. Xoanon explores both institutional and alternative belief systems and spiritual practices: a young woman criticizes the commodification of ritual in today’s society, UFOs are given a chance, and a priest sees God in every cloud. Added to this are magic potions, dark visions and other suspicions of a world in which we are not alone.
