Tell It to Spring

Hybrid film that transforms the physical properties of Super 8 mm film into multi-layered moving images. Through macro shots and close-ups, the film captures the subtle transmission of life and energy between plants, water and light in springtime in the northeastern United States. Perforations in the film become miniature frames, creating tiny windows that house paintings and micro-videos. The experimental approach extends to the margins of the film, where the key codes beyond the perforations, usually used for specific frame-by-frame identification, are transformed into concrete poetry.
