Frame Fragmenti

Zlatko Hajdler’s Karyokinesis prompted me to reflect on the eye’s persistence of vision: if 25 frames per second are required for us to perceive the illusion of movement, how is it possible to show all 25 frames within a single second? By experimenting in the editing process with footage of burned 8mm film, I tried to find a way to display them simultaneously, while contrasting them with Hajdler’s single frame, whose duration is impossible to predict.
