Films BorderLight

Films BorderLight, a screening dedicated to unknown films by women from Etna, past and present.

L’Etna is a shared workshop of experimental cinema that saw the birth of La Poudrière, a group of feminist filmmakers. A program to honor the 50th anniversary of the Collectif Jeune Cinéma, the 20th anniversary of L’Etna and the 5th anniversary of La Poudrière.

BorderLight Films, as if at the edge of the light, rarely seen, out of the drawers. Finally dared, just taken out of their night. BorderLine? Rather, BorderLight Films as one tucks a child into the evening light, to ward off the fear of the dark, tame its images and dream.

We discover intimate thoughts, political gestures, dreams and nightmares, dances and fights. On the border of the tipping point… Modesty, secret rituals, sacred impulses, where doing is necessary.

For its 50th anniversary, the CJC is also celebrating its years of collaboration and has invited cooperator and visual filmmaker Carole Arcega to design a program of films from Etna, of which she was the first president 20 years ago. She designed this program, the result of old and new creations, with Catherine Bareau, a filmmaker still active in Etna and La Poudrière.
